Former NFL tight finish Don Hasselbeck, who gained a Tremendous Bowl in his nine-year profession and was once the daddy of 2 NFL quarterbacks, died Monday. He was once 70.
Matt Hasselbeck mentioned his father died after going into cardiac arrest at his house.
“He was once an excellent husband, father, grandfather, good friend, trainer, participant, coworker, artist, mentor, and storyteller,” Matt Hasselbeck wrote on social media. “In spite of being an All-American at Colorado and a Tremendous Bowl Champion with the Raiders, what we’re maximum happy with is the chief he was once for our circle of relatives.”
The elder Hasselbeck was once drafted in the second one spherical via the New England Patriots in 1977 after a standout faculty profession at Colorado. He spent six seasons with the Patriots and led the staff in catches in 1981 with 46, at the side of 808 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns.

He was once traded to the Los Angeles Raiders early within the 1983 season and helped the staff win the Tremendous Bowl. He had two TD catches within the steady season for the Raiders, and the 6-foot-7 Hasselbeck blocked an additional level strive of their 38-9 Tremendous Bowl victory in opposition to Washington.
Hasselbeck spent the next season with the New York Giants and had a TD catch in a playoff win over the San Francisco 49ers, and he completed his profession with the Minnesota Vikings in 1985.
Hasselbeck had 107 catches for 1,542 yards and 18 touchdowns in 123 profession regular-season video games.
Two of Hasselbeck’s sons went directly to play quarterback within the NFL, with Matt making 3 Professional Bowls and beginning within the Tremendous Bowl for the Seattle Seahawks following the 2005 season and Tim, now an analyst for ESPN, taking part in most commonly as a backup.
